Newfoundland and
St. Lawrence Seaway 2026

Quebec City

The westernmost point of our journey is the beautiful city of Quebec. The history here is rich and this is the site of many battles between the French and English as they vied for control of this key fortress on the St. Lawrence. We spent the day exploring the old town and enjoying the wonderful views of the river.

Quebec is one of the oldest settlements in North America and the old town looks like something you would only expect to find in Europe.

The Chateau Marmont towers over the old town and dominates the sight lines from every angle.

We enjoyed lunch of crepes with maple syrup at an outdoor cafe.

As our ship pulled away in the evening, we were serenaded on the rear deck by a group singing Quebecois folk songs. Like many people we met on this trip, they speak very little english.
